Personalizing Your Blog
You should have your blog set up at this point, now there are a few steps to make it a little more personal.
Use the “login” link from the main entry page at http://www.all-foreclosure.com/blogs/
Once you click “login” with your username and password you’ll be taken to the Dashboard where you control your blog.
In the light blue color band click on “plugins”. Activate All in One SEO which can make your pages more search engine friendly. Then activate Spam Karma 2.
In the light blue color band, click on “manage”, then click on “Spam Karma 2″, scroll down a bit then click the “Save New Setting” button. You can change individual settings later, but this will give you basic protection against some of the more common spamming techniques.
In the light blue color band, click “Presentation”. You can use any of the available themes to use as the basis for your blog, just click on the theme you like. There are many other themes available, use a search engine and search for “word press themes” , if you find a theme you simply must have, write the theme name down and request it in an email to admin@all-foreclosure.com Some themes are compatible, some aren’t, but we’ll try to make it happen.
On the “Presentation” page, you’ll also have the option for including widgets, which are pre-assembled code that will go in your blog’s sidebar(s). There is a calendar, text block, blogroll and meta section. The meta section includes a login link you can use and RSS feed links. RSS allows readers to subscribe and receive your blog by email. The blogroll allows you to have permanent links from your blog to other places on the internet you find interesting. There is also a categories widget, which will allow readers to select only posts which fit into certain categories you establish. If you have posts about “slugs” and posts about “snails”, putting those posts in categories allows readers to select only either slugs or snails.
